Rêve Cares: New Orleans City Park

New Orleans City Park is one of the oldest urban parks in the country. For over 170 years, New Orleans City Park has provided access to abundant natural and cultural resources to residents of the region and tourists from around the world. City Park is home to the New Orleans Botanical Garden, Couturie Forest and Arboretum, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Louisiana Children’s Museum. The Botanical Garden is home to more than 2,000 varieties of plants, the Couturie Forest has 8 distinct ecosystems, and over 280 bird species have been sighted in the Park. City Park has the largest grove of mature live oaks in the world, some of which are nearly 800 years old. Although City Park is known for outdoor fun, athletic pursuits, and its recreational and cultural amenities, the City Park Conservancy and Improvement Association is committed to preserving natural habitats and promoting inclusivity in science by offering diverse park programming. Volunteer scientists host community events to educate the public on the importance of protecting natural resources and greenspaces. Rêve | Realtors are proud supporters of City Park and in the past have served as merry makers, which helps supports efforts that host the world-famous Celebration In The Oaks.  To learn more about City Park Conservancy and Improvement Association or how you can support this incredible mission, please visit neworleanscitypark.org.

Photo Courtesy of Giving Hope New Orleans Giving back is something you will never regret. It will enrich your life, positively impact your community, and enlighten your perspective. When you get involved with your community, you broaden your outlook and make a huge difference in the lives of others. In light of giving back, please read about our October 2022 Rêve Cares recipient,  Giving Hope Food Pantry of New Orleans.  Nine years ago, Toyota of New Orleans transformed a building on their property into a soup kitchen, launching The Giving Hope Food Pantry of New Orleans. The Giving Hope Food Pantry is a full-service food pantry and hot meal distribution center that supports the senior community and children of New Orleans East.  Since this incredible initiative launched in 2013, Giving Hope Food Pantry has supported over 200,000 New Orleans East residents by providing hot meals and groceries to the homes of low-income families.  Following Covid-19, Giving Hope Food Pantry acted as a place of normalcy for the residents of New Orleans East. Standard requirements were halted, and each family was met with a box of nutritional foods. Giving Hope Food Pantry of New Orleans aims to never turn a family away. Four days a week, the distribution center opens and doesn’t close until 300 families have been served.  Photo Courtesy of Giving Hope New Orleans Rêve is proud to support The Food Pantry of New Orleans and their life-changing cause.
