Rêve Cares: Meet Giving Hope NOLA

Giving back is something you will never regret. It will enrich your life, positively impact your community, and enlighten your perspective. When you get involved with your community, you broaden your outlook and make a huge difference in the lives of others. In light of giving back, please read about our October 2022 Rêve Cares recipient,  Giving Hope Food Pantry of New Orleans. 

Nine years ago, Toyota of New Orleans transformed a building on their property into a soup kitchen, launching The Giving Hope Food Pantry of New Orleans. The Giving Hope Food Pantry is a full-service food pantry and hot meal distribution center that supports the senior community and children of New Orleans East. 

Since this incredible initiative launched in 2013, Giving Hope Food Pantry has supported over 200,000 New Orleans East residents by providing hot meals and groceries to the homes of low-income families. 

Following Covid-19, Giving Hope Food Pantry acted as a place of normalcy for the residents of New Orleans East. Standard requirements were halted, and each family was met with a box of nutritional foods.

Giving Hope Food Pantry of New Orleans aims to never turn a family away. Four days a week, the distribution center opens and doesn’t close until 300 families have been served.
