Algiers

Located on the West Bank of the Mississippi River and across the Crescent City Connection Bridge, Algiers is the second oldest neighborhood in New Orleans. Initially industrialized for commercial use, early settlers built Algiers along the river for easy port access. Through the years, this historic neighborhood has transitioned into a residential area. Historic Algiers Point is home to many famous artists and jazz musicians. Algiers is a great mix of city living with a suburban feel. There are many coffee shops, restaurants, bars, and parks in Algiers.
