Top Spots for Watching the Solar Eclipse in New Orleans
The solar eclipse is going to happen on August 21st and those loving in New Orleans will get to see a portion of it. This phenomenon is expected to take place just before Noon at 11:58am in New Orleans. You can technically see it from any place that gives you a full view of the sky. However, there are some places in New Orleans that are better than others.

Those seeking the ability to see the full eclipse will need to drive to Nashville, Tennessee (about 530 miles away) as it’s the closest sot for the full eclipse.

Big Lake
Another great spot without any building blocking things is Big Lake. It’s found at City Park and includes plenty of natural beauty to enjoy. You could even be in a paddleboat during this incredible event.
Lafayette Square Conservatory

This will be a great spot for taking pictures of the solar eclipse and one of the bester choices if you want a relaxing environment. However, it’s already been announced as a top spot for pictures, so it may end up rather crowded. The viewing from here will be very good as it’s a green space with plenty to see.
Butterfly Riverview Park
Another great spot for getting the perfect picture, Butterfly Riverview Park offers more than just a spot for viewing the eclipse. It’s also filled with beautiful trees and provides a view of the Mississippi River.
Woldenberg Park
Found on the edge of the East Bank, this French Quarter park offers incredible scenery and an unobstructed view for the eclipse. It’s expected to be one of the top viewing spots in the city.
Ace Hotel New Orleans
If you can find a way to get up on the top of this hotel, maybe the rooftop pool is an option; you can grab a great view of the solar eclipse. Make a day out of it and book a room for the night to enjoy even more fun.
While just about any spot with a great view of the sky will do the trick, these spots are the best choices for those looking to enjoy the solar eclipse on August 21st at 11:58am. Make sure you claim your spot early, however. Many of these spots will fill up fast and you may struggle to find the right place to see this amazing event if you don’t show up early.
