Top Family Attractions Found at City Park
When it comes to family fun, it doesn’t get much better than City Park in New Orleans. The park covers more than 1,300 acres and it’s filled with all kinds of incredible attractions.

Carousel Gardens Amusement Park
Since 1906, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park has been bringing joy the children’s faces. The antique carousel is one of the top features in the park and one of about 100 left in the entire country. It’s the last one in Louisiana and offers a great way to transport yourself back in time.
Along with the carousel, the amusement park offers all kinds of other rides. You can enjoy Bumper Cars, the 40-foot fun slide, a Ferris Wheel, the Live Oak Lady Bug roller coaster and so much more.
Storyland
Another great attraction for the family at City Park is Storyland. This is the place where cartoon characters, animals and fairy tale legends come alive. It’s a play area with 26 exhibits filled with great characters and so much more.
The characters were created by some of the best Mardi Gras float makers in New Orleans. your children can enjoy meeting many classic characters, such as Captain Hook and Jack & Jill.
Equest Stables
If you love to ride horses, Equest Stables is the place for you. This Equestrian attraction is found 15 minutes from downtown and they provides full-service horseback riding with jumping and more. It’s surrounded by the golf courses and lagoons of City Park.
City Putt
Maybe you and your family need to get a bit competitive with some fun mini golf action. City Putt is one of the newest attractions at City Park and offer two, 18-hole courses to enjoy.
The Louisiana Course provides a theme around the state, the city and the culture, while the New Orleans Course shows off the streets from the city and plenty of historic sites. If you enjoy mini golf, this is an experience you and your family cannot miss.
Train Garden
Learn about the history of New Orleans in a very unique way at the Train Garden. It’s a model of New Orleans from the early 19th century. Buildings were constructed and designed by Paul Busse to show off what the city would have looked like back in the day.
City Splash
While you cannot quite enjoy this attraction yet, it will be opening soon at City Park. City Splash will be a four-acre water park and will even have room to become even bigger. It’s going to be breaking ground very soon, which will provide one more wonderful family attraction at City Park.
