Rêve Realtors Love Your Neighbor, Y’all Campaign Celebrates Pride Month

Pride Month is a cherished time for us at Rêve Realtors, a time when we come together to celebrate love, diversity, and the resilient spirit of the LGBTQ+ community. It’s a moment to honor the struggles, triumphs, and unwavering courage of those who have fought for equality and continue to pave the way for a more inclusive world. This year, our Love Your Neighbor, Y’all campaign is dedicated to embracing the true essence of community by shining a light on the incredible local organizations that provide unwavering support and services to LGBTQ+ individuals in New Orleans.

Project Lazarus: Compassion and Care for Those in Need

One of the standout organizations we are proud to highlight is Project Lazarus. Founded in 1985, Project Lazarus has been a beacon of hope and compassion, providing housing and supportive services to people living with HIV/AIDS. The organization’s mission is to ensure that no one faces the challenges of HIV/AIDS alone. Through a holistic approach that includes housing, healthcare, and emotional support, Project Lazarus has made a profound impact on the lives of many in our community.

Their work is particularly vital as it addresses not only the medical needs of individuals but also the social and emotional aspects of living with HIV/AIDS. By providing a safe and nurturing environment, Project Lazarus helps residents regain stability and confidence, empowering them to lead fulfilling lives.

Our beloved Rêve agent, Danny Akers, who serves as Project Lazarus' current Board Chair, says, “What started in 1985 as a hospice for those dying of AIDS has developed into a trusted service provider for those living with HIV. In the last year, Project Lazarus has provided 3,600 safe nights, over 10,000 meals, and over 1,400 hours of counseling.  An amazing group of caregivers is on the staff of Project Lazarus. There are many ways to be involved and give back to your community!  It is incredibly rewarding to be involved and give back to your community.  My mantra is be kind, be nice, smile and give back!”

CrescentCare: Comprehensive Health Services for All

Another remarkable organization we are thrilled to support is CrescentCare. As a community health center, CrescentCare offers a wide range of services, including primary medical care, behavioral health services, and specialized care for the LGBTQ+ community. Their commitment to health equity ensures that everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, has access to the care they need.

CrescentCare’s services are comprehensive, addressing the unique healthcare needs of the LGBTQ+ community. From HIV testing and prevention to transgender health services, their inclusive approach ensures that all individuals receive respectful and competent care. CrescentCare’s dedication to health and wellness strengthens our community, promoting a culture of acceptance and support.

Forum For Equality is another extraordinary organization we are proud to highlight this Pride Month. Since its inception in 1989, Forum For Equality has been at the forefront of the fight for LGBTQ+ rights in Louisiana. As a statewide organization dedicated to achieving legal and lived equality for LGBTQ+ individuals, Forum For Equality has been instrumental in advancing policies and practices that promote fairness and justice.

Forum For Equality is deeply committed to advocacy and legal work that protects and enhances the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals. Their efforts include lobbying for inclusive legislation, challenging discriminatory laws, and working tirelessly to ensure that the voices of the LGBTQ+ community are heard in the halls of power. Their legal advocacy has led to significant victories, including the repeal of discriminatory statutes and the promotion of policies that foster inclusivity and respect.
