Upcoming Event: Treme Creole Gumbo Festival

Events in New Orleans are huge and the Treme Creole Gumbo Festival is no exception. This event helps to celebrate the heritage and history of the oldest neighborhood of Free African Americans in the entire country. It will be hosted by the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival for the ninth time on November 18th and 19th.
The Festival
Faubourg Treme is known as the birthplace for Jazz music. It’s also one of the most unique neighborhoods in New Orleans. The Treme Creole Gumbo Festival is a celebration of both jazz and the neighborhood heritage. It will feature plenty of New Orleans jazz performances from well-known artists, plenty of gumbo and so much more.
This is a free festival providing all kinds of entertainment including jazz, brass jazz band, R&B and so much more. An Art Market will be available between sets to purchase hand-made crafts and gifts. In addition, the Brass Menagerie second line parade is a part of this event.
