Upcoming Event: National Fried Chicken Fest

It’s an exciting and delicious time of year for New Orleans as the National Fired Chicken Fest is just around the corner! This event takes place this September at Woldenberg Park for a delicious weekend celebrating all things fried chicken. Take a look at all of the details below and what you can expect for this year’s National Fried Chicken Fest.

About the Festival

This year’s National Fried Chicken Fest is being put together by Raising Cane’s and they are presenting the event to you for no charge for admission. They want to give you the chance to sample some of the best fried chicken which will be easy when 35 restaurants come together in one location!

You’ll get to try all of your favorite flavors from mild to spicy to extra crispy and everything in-between. Additionally, there will be all kinds of activities to make sure this happens, including cooking demonstrations and fried chicken finger eating contests.

Where and when?

The event is taking place at Woldenberg Park over at 1 Canal Street along the Mississippi River. It’s at the bottom of Canal Street near the French Quarter. You can access the event by taking the St. Charles Streetcar line, the Riverfront line, and the Canal Street line.

The event takes place on 9/22 and 9/23 from 11am to 9pm on Saturday and 11am until 8pm on Sunday with no admission charge either day. The 2-day festival is giving you a whole weekend to take part in the experience and a bigger venue to have more opportunities to move around and try from more of these delicious restaurants. The park is actually 520,120 sq. ft. and will have plenty of room for the entertainment, including two music stages and a cooking demo stage.

Who is coming?

You’ll have access to 35 restaurants’ fried chicken as well as music and fun experiences. The performers will be announced soon, but you can expect restaurants like Bayou Hot Wings, Blue Oak BBQ, Belle’s Diner, and so many more. In year’s past, we’ve seen music from artists like Sweet Crude and Brass-A-Holics. Make sure to bring the whole family because there are family-friendly activities and fried chicken contests.
