Upcoming Event: Birdfoot Festival

For the seventh year in a row, the Birdfoot Festival is back. This festival includes a youthful, rule-bending style with plenty of great live chamber music to offer. It’s known as New Orleans’ International Chamber Music Festival and offers great music and entertainment throughout the event.

The Events

While the actual festival doesn’t begin until May 29th, the Community Chamber Music Reading Party will be held on May 21t from 8pm to 11pm. This event will be at the George and Joyce Wein Jazz & Heritage Center on Rampart Street. Amateur musicians will come out and enjoy this event as they play in a relaxed atmosphere for all to enjoy.

Events throughout the festival will include:

• Birdfoot @ The CAC: Open Rehearsals – May 29th to June 1st at the Contemporary Arts Center New Orleans
• Lunchtime Concert – Tuesday May 29th from 12:15pm to 1pm in Downtown New Orleans
• A Musical Feast – May 29th from 7pm to 10:30pm at Brennan’s Restaurant
• New Orleans 300: Creole Contradanzas – May 30th at 8pm at the Performing Arts Center
• Birdfoot Backstage – May 31st at 7pm with a Happy Hour at 6pm and Young Artists Program Showcase Concert at 6:15pm at the Contemporary Arts Center
• Alla Zingares – June 1st at 8pm at the Contemporary Arts Center
• Season Finale: The Devil’s Violin – June 2nd at 8pm with a Young Artist Program Showcase Concert at 7pm at the George and Joyce Wein Jazz & Heritage Center

There will be a bar at every performance and the musicians will spend some time there before or after the performance to mingle. You can ask questions and enjoy getting answers as you enjoy the reception, the music and so much more with the Birdfoot Festival.

Festival Details

The Birdfoot Festival runs from May 29th to June 3rd and it will be held at multiple venues throughout the city. It includes many events with some of the top events listed above.
