Top Things to Do in New Orleans for September
Fall is right around the corner and September is nearly here. Football is about to kick off and so many other fun things are in store throughout New Orleans for September. Here’s a look at some of the fun things you will get to enjoy throughout the month.
Labor Day Weekend
September 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th will provide you with plenty of fun over Labor Day weekend. Southern Decadence will be happening throughout this time, which is one of the many events you can enjoy. Many other events will be held throughout New Orleans, as well.
Louisiana Philharmonic Season Starts
On September 14th, it will be time to kick off another season of the Louisiana Philharmonic. This season will include the Gershwin’s “Bolero” piano concerto at 7:30pm on September 14th, along with plenty of other great options.
Saints Home Games

September 17th will kick off the home season for the Stains as they host the New England Patriots. This is going to be a huge battle at the Superdome and one of many to come throughout the season. The battle against the Patriots will be the only home game for September with about a month in between, so make sure you get your tickets if you love football.
Restaurant Week
One of the best events of the year will happen from September 11th to 17th. Restaurants week will allow you to enjoy great deals on excellent meals from some of the best restaurants in the city. Enjoy spots, such as Tujague’s, Avo, Shaya, Bayona and so many others.
Take in Martini Madness

September 15th at City Park, you can enjoy Martini Madness, which is a fundraiser with plenty of live music, small bites to eat and so much more. Tickets are $45 and the funds will help to benefits projects in the park.
On Tap is Back
As of September 23rd, on Tap at City Park will be back to help usher in Oktoberfest. This will be the largest beer fest in the area with the funds going to help the Louisiana SPCA and other organizations. On Tap will provide more than 400 different choices and general admission is just $5.
Treme Fall Fest
Coming at the end of the month on September 29th, you can enjoy Treme Fall Fest. This three-day event includes plenty of music, culture and so much more. It will be centered around the St. Augustine Church and the proceeds will help to benefit restoration and repairs for the church.
Scales and Ales at the Audubon Aquarium
Another choice on September 29th is Scales and Ales at the Audubon Aquarium. This event will allow you to enjoy beer, wine, food and plenty of live entertainment. It’s a great party and starts at 7pm. Tickets are $60 for this event.
