Rêve’s Rescues Bring So Much Joy

With many Rêve agents lovingly adopting rescues in the last year or so, we wanted to share a few of their photos and stories with you! These sweet dogs and cats bring lots of joy to their humans every single day.
Mud

Mud was rescued from a tangle of kudzu, deep in a North Carolina valley. While on a hike, Rêve agent Cody Stringer and his family heard some whimpering and searched to find the source. Finally uncovering this little puppy, they tried to find his family but to no avail. So, Mud came home with them to New Orleans and has been a happy addition to their family ever since.
Kevin

Kevin the orange kitty actually chose the Stringer family. While Cody and his family were in front of their house one day, visiting with neighbors, the cat appeared and rubbed up against their legs. The neighbor noted that minutes earlier, someone had thrown the poor thing out of their car and sped off. Well, Kevin picked the right folks, because the Stringers gave him a big hug and welcomed him into their home. Cody says Kevin is very good at “snuggling, napping on chests, and knocking unattended cups off of surfaces.”
Ramona

Cody’s wife Meghan saw a post on NextDoor.com about a kitten someone had found in their car engine. Cody says, “She couldn’t help herself…the kitten was about a week old, and its eyes weren’t even open yet. So we bottle fed her for a few months.” He notes that they weren’t sure for a while if Ramona was going to make it, but she did, and now she’s “our perfectly crazy, sweet, and misunderstood kitty girl.”
Koko

Rêve partner Clint LaCour had been wanting to adopt a cat, and while spending so much time at home due to the pandemic, he decided it was time. He went to the SPCA expecting to adopt an adult cat, but there weren’t many to choose from. Instead, the veterinarian introduced him to a little kitten – and said he could foster the cat for a few weeks and bring him back if things didn’t work out. Says Clint now, “Obviously, I fell for little Koko.”
Archie

Says Rêve agent Adrienne LaBauve, “We got Archie in April. He was so unhealthy that it took months for him to grow into his little personality. After lots of vet visits, he is packed with energy, super happy, and he’s a great assistant!”
Rêvie

Rêve agent Amanda Clark found this cute little guy running around New Orleans East one day. She brought him back to the Rêve Realtors office, where he was promptly given the name Rêvie, and served as the unofficial mascot for a few days. Rêve agent Joe Robert was more than happy to adopt him and says, “Rêvie has been partying ever since!”
Roux and Mr. Dog

Says Rêve agent Erin Hardy, “Roux the cat was found under a truck when she was a kitten. She’s very sassy and likes to boss around the dog.” Erin’s husband adopted Mr. Dog from an animal shelter adoption event at Lafayette Square. From what we hear, Mr. Dog is particularly talented at snoozing on the couch for the better part of the day. And he obviously has great taste in Christmas sweaters.
Max

Rêve agent Suzy Lamore spotted Max on a Baton Rouge rescue website and promptly fell in love. At that point, he’d already been placed in two other homes, but it hadn’t worked out because of his big puppy energy. Says Suzy, “He does indeed have an abundance of enthusiasm, but he’s so adorably sweet that we don’t understand how anyone could give him up. He’s a loving and silly goofball, and our older dog, Greta, is glad to have him as her brother (most of the time)!”
Salem

Our friend Bryce Novotny from Eustis Mortgage found this little kitten in the wheel well of his truck, hiding from the rain. He was sure that she’d be the perfect “realtor cat”, as she liked riding around in his car and slept the most of the time. Rêve partner Ryan Wentworth went to see her and was smitten. Salem is now happy to be such a big part of Ryan’s life.
Phoebe and Ollie

Both of Rêve agent Amanda Clark’s dogs are rescues. She adopted Phoebe (the brown gal on the left) from a shelter in St. Francisville, LA, and found Ollie (the white pup on the right) on the side of the road somewhere near Bay St. Louis, MS. Ollie was small, scared, covered in fleas, and had no tags or collar. Now, they’re both healthy and happy. Amanda can’t imagine life without them, saying, “I love these dogs so much! I can’t believe how much joy they have brought to my life.”
