Rêve Cares: STAIR NOLA

When Rêve Realtors’ beloved agent, Sissy Blewster nominated STAIR NOLA to be a sponsored organization for Rêve’s Give Back initiative it came as no surprise to the Rêve team. Sissy is known for referencing this “incredible organization that serves the children of New Orleans.”

Founded in 1985 as a neighborhood outreach program, STAIR is a city-wide reading intervention program that provides the opportunity of one-on-one tutoring sessions tailored to each student’s ability. STAIR’s main goal is to improve the literacy skills of every student who attends their program. Once a tutor for STAIR NOLA, Sissy now sits on the executive board as the organization’s secretary. “I remember being one of those students, having challenges with reading, working with a local org like STAIR allows me to see how the smallest difference in a child’s life can make an impact on an entire community.”

STAIR NOLA is dedicated to improving the self-confidence and self-esteem of its students through literacy. Their mission is to prevent each child in the program from falling behind in the school system by enhancing their ELA skills. The best part about this organization, they provide all of their services at no charge. 

STAIR NOLA truly cares about the betterment of its students, the well-being of the parents, and making a difference within the community of New Orleans. We at Rêve now understand why Sissy is so passionate about STAIR and we couldn’t be more proud to sponsor this amazing organization.
