Personalize Your New Home and Front Door with a Bold Dose of Color

As a new homeowner, it’s important to make your new home feel like you. One of the simplest and most impactful ways to do so is to customize your front door by painting it a new color. A bold dose of fresh color gives an instant stamp of personalization and uniqueness to your home. For the month of June, and a nod to pride month, I’ve highlighted some of the best paint colors from our favorite brands down the spectrum and suggested friendly compliments to them for all of your exterior color scheme needs.

Incarnadine by Farrow and Ball is a classic, regal crimson for a bold front door. This deep hue stands out as all-American with a historic twist and is brought to life when paired with crisp, bright whites and sophisticated black colors with a blue base.

Benjamin Moore’s Hale Orange is a head turner for sure. Paint this nuanced orange in high gloss for pizzaz. Try it with dark green shutters and a warm white trim. Add a slate floor to your porch, and you can’t go wrong with this dreamy, sunny orange.

Print Room Yellow by Farrow and Ball is a soft golden yellow. It’s fun with dusty teals and taupe-y browns.

Goodwin Green by Benjamin Moore is rich and intense without being overpowering. Offset the drama with deep tans and golden whites for a truly dynamic color story.

Farrow and Ball’s Hague blue is a fantastically deep, dark blue with roots in Dutch decorative arts. The color is multi-faceted as it plays well with an array of complementary hues. Try it with lighter, warmer grays for tonal glamour or with cool whites for crisp contrast.

Would you have a purple front door? Of course you would – what could be more interesting? For an all-out statement, why not use Benjamin Moore’s Purple Rain. The name says it all. This color stands on its own no matter what the finish. Frame this one out with a cool gray.
