A Closer Look at the Music Clubs in the French Quarter, Part 3

With so many great music clubs in the French Quarter, we had to create three parts for this blog series. You can read part one here and part two here. Now, let’s finish up the list and look at a few more excellent music clubs found in the French Quarter.
Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop – 941 Bourbon Street
Dating all the way back to the 1720s, this building is a great choice for a night out on the town. It’s filled with history and offers an excellent spot for live music. You’ll enjoy plenty of fun here and the bar stays open into the early morning hours.
The Davenport Lounge – 921 Canal Street
Found inside The Ritz-Carlton, this upscale lounge offers a great spot for jazz music. Enjoy live jazz all night long with plenty of refined cocktails here.
One Eyed Jacks – 615 Toulouse Street

Offering live jazz, rock and funk music, there’s always something going on at this hip spot. They even offer burlesque shows on occasion.
House of Blues – 225 Decatur Street
A premier live music venue in New Orleans, the House of Blues offers plenty of world-class musicians during the year. You will enjoy all types of choices including an excellent Gospel Brunch on Sundays.
The Jazz Playhouse – 300 Bourbon Street
If you’re looking for one of the best jazz clubs in the city, this is your spot. The Jazz Playhouse is found in the Royal Sonesta Hotel and offers plenty of great talent on the stage.
Chris Owens Club – 500 Bourbon Street
Adding a Las Vegas element to Bourbon Street, the Chris Owens Club offers plenty of entertainment. The Latin Rhythms Band will take the stage six nights a week and you can enjoy plenty of great drinks here.
Bar Mon Cher – 817 St. Louis Street
A very comfortable, yet elegant place to enjoy live music, Bar Mon Cher was built in 1779 as a Creole Townhouse. It’s now a jazz bar offering a living room feel with plenty of live music on the stage every week.
Funky Pirate – 727 Bourbon Street
A great spot for blues music, the Funky Pirate has been a favorite on Bourbon Street for many years. The party starts in the late afternoon and goes into the wee hours of the morning.

- Old Opera House – 601 Bourbon Street
There are plenty of great music clubs all throughout the French Quarter. All you have to do is pick a spot and you’re sure to discover a few more right next door or just a few doors down.
