A Closer Look at the Music Clubs in the French Quarter, Part 2

With so many great music clubs throughout the French Quarter, this is actually part two of a three-part blog series. You can find part one here and continue to part three at the bottom of this post. Here’s a look at more of the excellent music clubs found in the French Quarter.

Carousel Bar – 214 Royal Street

Found in Hotel Mantellone, the Carousel Bar & Lounge is a unique spot to enjoy. The Carousel offers a merry-go-round bar and it has been revolving since 1949. The bar is one of the most popular among locals and they even offer live jazz music weekly.

Steamboat Natchez – 1 Toulouse Street

This classic Mississippi riverboat sails out three times daily from the French Quarter. You’ll enjoy traditional New Orleans jazz music and if you take the evening cruise you can enjoy dinner, as well.

Palm Court Jazz Cafe – 1204 Decatur Street

Found in the refurbished French Market warehouse, this spot offers a dinner club with great jazz music. Many of the musicians performing here also perform at Preservation Hall.

21st Amendment Jazz Club at La Louisiane – 725 Iberville Street

Six out of the seven nights every week, you will be able to enjoy excellent New Orleans jazz here. This spot offers tons of history, an upscale atmosphere and an intimate place to enjoy jazz music. It’s found inside the Hotel Mazarin and offers a very classy music club in the French Quarter.

The Puccini Bar – 541 Bourbon Street

Found within the Four Points by Sheraton French Quarter, this bar offers plenty to be excited about. It’s filled with talented musicians throughout the week and even the Opera comes here a couple times per month. Some of the top vocalists perform here.

Bourbon ‘O’ – 717 Orleans Street

Located within the Bourbon Orleans Hotel, Bourbon ‘O’ will provide plenty of fun. It’s filled with great music, Wednesday through Sunday with jazz performances and plenty more. It’s a great place to enjoy music with audience engagement and some unique twists.

The Famous Door – 339 Bourbon Street

A long-time spot for music on Bourbon Street, The Famous Door offers R&B and show dance bands. Music is heard here seven nights a week and there’s always something fun going on.

Crescent City Brewhouse – 527 Decatur Street

A favorite for locals, this microbrewery and restaurant offers plenty to get excited about. The beer and food is great, but the music is even better. They often hold live music nights here with a variety of artists taking the stage.

Spirits on Bourbon – 615 Bourbon Street

This spot in the French Quarter was featured on Spike TV’s Bar Rescue. The dueling piano shows are an excellent choice and the bar also offers plenty of HD TVs for sports. They have a full kitchen and plenty of fun is found here regularly.
